I am using Object Desktop Premium/Impulse. I have always been really confused about the purpose of the individual programs.

For example, now I have Bootskin Pro and I have LogonVista. I have been using LogonVista. What is the difference in these two programs?

What is the difference in Icon Packager 4 and IconX?

What is the difference in MyColors, Object Desktop Premium Skins, Theme Manager, and Window Blinds?

Also --- Use Impulse or WinCustomize ??

There are just so many programs, how do you use them in the best way?

Ah, one changes your BootSkin the other changes your Logon

I think maybe a visit to the WinCustomize Wiki may help you understand the differences in the programs some.  Here is a link.  http://wiki.wincustomize.com/wiki/Main_Page

You might also want to chck out the product page for Stardock.  https://www.stardock.com/products/

After going through those two links come on back with any question you still might have.

BootSkin Pro allows you change your Windows Vista bootskin, and LogonStudio Vista allows you to change the logon screen which appears after Vista boots.

What is the difference in Icon Packager 4 and IconX?

IconPackager allows you change your entire set of Windows icons (and individually as well) at one time by using "packs" of icons.  IconX enhances existing icons with things like effects and labels.  Although I think development has been halted for Vista, but I could be incorrect.

What is the difference in MyColors, Object Desktop Premium Skins, Theme Manager, and Window Blinds?

Think of MyColors as an "all-in-one" solution for changing your desktop.  A MyColors theme will typically include a visual style, icons, wallpaper, and desktop gadgets.  This is a great solution for anyone, but in particular people who don't know much about customizing desktops, or don't want to download individiual pieces of software.

Object Desktop premium suites are just that....premium theme suites.

Theme Manager is an application which ties many pieces of software together.  You can apply .suites and MyColors themes, from it, or apply individual skins.

WindowBlinds is an application that changes your Windows visual style.  It changes the complete look and feel of Windows.

Also --- Use Impulse or WinCustomize ??

These are two different things.  WinCustomize is a website where you can download a huge variety of skins for most of the applications mentioned above.

Impulse is Stardock's new digital distribution application.  With Impulse, you can purchase, download, update, etc. applications and games.
